The Future of Nursing 2020-2030: You ARE the Future!

There have been two landmark reports (from the National Academy of Medicine / Institute of Medicine and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation) that have stimulated major new directions in the profession of nursing. The original report from 2010 brought shifts in education, leadership, and intraprofessional relationships. The latest report scheduled for 2020 was delayed until 2021. It includes a call to action for the nursing profession to engage in activities related to health equity, social justice, and caring for the well being of nurses. This report is changing what schools and organizations are focusing on, and it is going to be your guide going forward as you form your professional identity in nursing.
Welcome to nursing!!
